Gold-Filled

Gold-filled jewellery is jewellery composed of a solid layer of gold mechanically bonded to a base metal. Gold filled jewellery contains a minimum of 5% of gold. The process involves pressure bonding multiple layers of the pure gold with extreme heat onto the inner core; the result of this complex process is the high quality gold filled item.

Gold filled jewellery has more durability than gold plated pieces, due to the higher content of gold. When cared for correctly, gold filled jewellery can last for many years without tarnishing. Gold filled pieces are an affordable alternative to solid gold pieces, but are still water resistant and suitable for sensitive skin.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals, usually copper. The addition of other metals enhances the strength and hardness of silver.

While sterling silver does tarnish over time due to the copper content, it is relatively easy to clean and maintain. Proper care and regular cleaning can keep sterling silver items looking their best.

Gold Plated

Gold-plated jewellery over brass is made by coating a base of brass (a durable and affordable metal) with a thin layer of gold. This process, called electroplating, gives the jewellery the appearance of solid gold at a more accessible price.
